Important thanks, winter feature, and a reminder!

Sat Dec 12, 2009, 1:42 PM
Hi everyone! First off, many many many many many thanks to :iconmarielouve: for gifting a subscription to me!!! :glomp: I've never had one before, but I'm already having lots of fun playing with it.

As such, and secondly, here's a handful of wintery pieces I've done before. Yay for thumbnails!

And finally, I just wanted to remind everyone that if you've been watching me since before my official site [link] launched, you are still eligible for my OLD commission prices until December 31st!!! Its a bit late for commissioning holiday gifts, I know, but there's still time if you had something in mind that you wanted from me otherwise :) I'll accept commissions, via notes here or by e-mail (rachelillustrates@yahoo.com) until 11:59 pm EST on December 31st (and of course I'll still accept commissions after that, just at the new prices).

In case you forgot what the prices were:

:bulletgreen: $15.00 – 5 by 8.5 inches, colored pencil only
:bulletgreen: $20.00 – 5 by 8.5 inches, watercolor or watercolor/colored pencil combination
:bulletgreen: $25.00 – 9 by 12 inches, colored pencil only
:bulletgreen: $30.00 – 9 by 12 inches, watercolor or watercolor/colored pencil combination

All prices include shipping and handling. As of January 1st, all prices will be raised $10.

All that said, early happy holidays to all, and thanks as always for watching! :aww:

Want prints?

Sun Nov 15, 2009, 1:03 PM
Hi everyone! To make a long story short, amongst the handful of things I have planned to launch around New Year's, I've been thinking of offering prints of my artwork for sale.

So, in your opinion, which of my pieces would you suggest I make prints of?

Thanks in advance to those who make suggestions, and as always, thanks to all for watching! :aww:

Quick update, EDIT - and a feature!!!

Wed Oct 28, 2009, 8:15 AM
Hi everyone. Just posted 4 new pieces, still have many more unfinished in my sketchbook, as usual. Those of you who watch my scraps will have also noticed that I'm STILL behind on uploading the photos from my Ireland vacation. Yes, I realize it's been more than a month now, shaddup. I will finish posting them asap, really. I'm also working on an actual written account of my trip to go along with it, which I'll post in my journal once I'm done writing it and the pictures are up. So those of you who demand adventure stories *coughgalfmizalcough* should have some as soon as possible ;p

Also, apologies for being behind on comments/replies/notes/the usual written things I can't seem to keep up on. The "day job" is messing with my schedule and free time (never ever ever ever become the boss, it sucks, especially if you're the lowest level of boss possible). Anyway, I'll catch up on stuff asap, like I said, and I should have a couple of artsy-related announcements within the next couple of months too! Some hints: one is the secret project I've mentioned a couple of times (no, not the Pin-Up book), and the other will make my work more "available," and shiny.

So please keep watching, and thanks as always for doing that in the first place :huggle:

:bulletgreen::bulletgreen:EDIT:bulletgreen::bulletgreen: Apparently I've also been featured in the following article! Yay!!!

Its an old piece, and there's so much work in there that is way more gorgeous, but I'm honored to be included, especially for such an important topic. Go take a look, if you like :)

Hospital Forces Lesbian to Die Alone

Tue Oct 6, 2009, 2:33 PM
As quoted from "Hospital Forces Lesbian to Die Alone, Judge Gives Stamp of Approval" of [link] :

"U.S. District Judge Adalberto Jordan dismissed a lawsuit yesterday, essentially finding that the Jackson Memorial Hospital was within its rights to leave a dying woman alone while denying her present and immediate family to visit her, be updated on her condition, or even to provide the hospital with medically necessary information.

Named in the now-dismissed suit were Jackson social worker Garnett Frederick and attending physicians Alois Zauner and Carlos Alberto Cruz, who made the decision not to allow Janice Langbehn, Lisa Pond’s partner, to have standard family access to information, even after receiving durable Power of Attorney and a Living Will naming Janice as legal guardian with authority to make end-of-life decisions."

PLEASE read the whole article here [link] for the whole, horrifying story.

How can we live in a world where this happens??? And this happens ALL THE TIME. How can we LET this keep happening?

Ireland pictures delay *headdesk*

Mon Oct 5, 2009, 4:26 AM
Hi everyone! Some of you might have noticed that I started uploading some of my photos from Ireland yesterday, in my scraps section, but only got three up. I promise I'm going to put up more than that, I was just unexpectedly delayed in doing so both last night and this morning. Expect them up by Wednesdayish, and yes, I will post another journal entry when I'm finally done uploading them.

Also, many many many thanks to everyone who commented on my last journal! I apologize for my paranoia, but you all said some very kind and, more importantly, helpful things, which I'll be implementing in my work soon. You guys are amazing, and I don't know what I would do without you :huggle:

That's all for now, and hopefully I'll be writing with the complete set of photos and the story of my trip soon :ahoy:
